1840 flintlock musket altered to percussion by Springfield Armory dated 1841.  It is a Belgian-style cone conversion.  The musket has 2 cartouches with "VP" eagle visible at the breach.  The metal shows light pitting overall, brown patina, smooth bore, the stock shows normal wear.  The original full length ramrod is present.  There are initials carved on buttstock “DK” & “WMH” measurng 3/4".
